RSD Drops to Feature Conor Oberst, Randy Newman Vinyl – Nonesuch Records

Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record stores, takes place over two RSD Drops on two Saturdays this year, June 12 and July 17, 2021, and included among the special releases on those days are new vinyl releases featuring titles from two artists familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal: Conor Oberst and Randy Newman.

For the first RSD Drop, on June 12, comes Conor Oberst’s Ruminations (Expanded Edition), a double-LP expanded remastered edition of his critically acclaimed 2016 solo album. Featuring five bonus tracks, four of which are previously unreleased, and an exclusive etching on side D, this release will be first available on black 140-gram vinyl, limited to 9,500 copies worldwide.

For the second RSD Drop, on July 17, and exclusive to Record Store Day, there’s Randy Newman’s Roll with the Punches: The Studio Albums (1979–2017), an eight-LP set of Newman’s latest seven studio albums—Born Again, Trouble in Paradise, Land of Dreams, Faust, Bad Love (on vinyl for the first time), Harps and Angels, and Dark Matter—on 140-gram vinyl, featuring original album jackets, lyric/credit sheets, and Faust demos. This collection will be limited to 3,000 copies worldwide.
